Bethany Murray is a performance photographer whose work is closely linked to a cinematic language. She uses herself both as performer and photographer.
Born in Brighton, she lives and works in London with a studio in Hackney Wick. She studied at Central St Martins on an MA in Fine Art, and previously at Dartington College of Arts and London Contemporary Dance School.
She is currently working on a two projects; a series in Rome involving other performers and passers-by, and a project setting up a studio with children in Tower Hamlets.
Her work has been displayed in various shows including Format International Photography Festival in Derby in 2009, The Phillips de Pury in London 2009, Saatchi Online at Form Art Fair and Saatchi’s Mess 2008/9, Louise T Blouin Institute, Twilight Suite, London 2008, as well as 2008/9 Korridor Projects, Isolated Bodies at the Istanbul Art Fair, and Monstertruck and the Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin 4mation 2, Big Foot in 2007/8.
Her work is part of murmurart, as well as the public collection of the Office of Public Works, Ireland and the University Art Collection, London.
